The Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at Washington State University is seeking a technician to support their air quality teaching and research laboratories. Responsibilities will include routine maintenance, repair, and calibration for instrumentation, laboratory safety, and oversight of chemical inventories. The technician will also be expected to assist faculty with teaching lab exercises and to provide technical assistance to graduate students in their research activities.
Hands-on experience with air quality instrumentation and with gas handling and wet chemical techniques are required. Strong communication skills are important. Work will take place primarily on WSU’s Pullman campus, but will include occasional travel for training and in support of field activities. This position is guaranteed at half time, and additional support up to full-time status potentially available via faculty-led research projects.
