Job/ project description:

The Atmospheric Chemistry Group at the Department of Chemistry/University of
Oslo studies the composition, transport and photochemical transformation of
organic trace gases in the Earth's atmosphere. The activities are mostly
experimental, including both field and laboratory work. One research focus
is on amines related to carbon capture and storage (CCS) activities.

The group applies state-of-the art mass spectrometric techniques (PTR-MS,
PTR-ToF-MS) and is engaged in the development of new chemical ionization
mass spectrometry techniques for trace gases and particles.

Requirements/qualifications:
The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences has a strategic ambition of
being a leading research faculty. Candidates for these fellowships will be
selected in accordance with this, and expected to be in the upper segment of
their class with respect to academic credentials.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a Master's degree (or
equivalent) in environmental chemistry, environmental physics or related
fields and proven hands-on experience in mass spectrometry (PTR-MS and
related techniques, IMS-MS, ToF-MS). Experience in atmospheric chemistry
field or laboratory work is recommended. Candidates must be willing to work
in close collaboration with the other group members and to spend extended
periods of time (> 1 month) in the field or abroad. Good written
communication skills in English are essential.
