Minimum Requirements: . Bachelor of Science degree in relevant
discipline (Environmental/Health Science, chemical engineering,
atmospheric science, meteorology, or other related field).

. General knowledge of state and federal environmental regulatory framework
. Ability to write and to convey thoughts and ideas in a clear, concise
manner
. Ability to organize data in an efficient and clear manner
. Ability to learn through on-the-job experience
. Ability to communicate and interact effectively and successfully with
multiple team members and client personnel in a variety of settings,
including commercial, industrial, construction, and military sites
. Comfortable with oral presentations to client audiences and also be
capable of handling multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
. Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a
pre-employment substance abuse test
Job Description: The Air Quality Specialist will provide support to
project engineers, scientists, and managers that involve research and
analysis services for environmental compliance and pollution prevention
projects. Responsibilities may include researching regulations and
compliance strategies; conducting compliance audits and environmental
baseline surveys; preparing compliance permits, reports, and other
documents; and providing oral presentations to client teams. Other
responsibilities include communicating and interacting with project
managers, other team scientists/engineers, project staff, and clients
effectively.
The candidate will be a part of a multi-disciplinary regulatory team,
made up of engineers, scientists, and other environmental specialists
that provide consulting services to the commercial and public
(federal/state/local government) sectors, including the Department of
Defense, Department of Energy, the aerospace industry, pharmaceutical
manufacturers, oil and gas facilities/refineries, power companies, and
other industrial facilities. The candidate will report to the Air
Quality Team Leader within the Environmental Department.
Motivated candidates will find opportunities to work on a wide variety
of environmental, health and safety issues, as well as significant
potential for advancement within the firm. The candidate will have many
opportunities to expand their problem-solving skills, enhance writing
and communication skills, and learn how to effectively communicate with
federal/state/local agencies on regulatory interpretations and negotiations.
Incumbent responsibilities:
. Calculating emissions, identifying permit and regulatory requirements
for sources, completing permit applications, dispersion modeling and
researching federal and state air quality regulations
. Researching regulations and preparing environmental audit materials
and/or conducting compliance audits
. Supporting environmental impact statements (EIS) and environmental
assessments (EA)
. Supporting the preparation of training, educational, or promotional
materials related to environmental compliance and pollution prevention
initiatives
. Fieldwork to support the above activities
