Colorado College

 Hello All -
Colorado College is hiring a new faculty member in environmental
science, broadly defined. Candidates who can add to the college's
Environmental Program (
http://www.coloradocollege.edu/academics/dept/environmentalprogram/) with
teaching and research focused on water-rock-plant-atmsophere interactions
taking place in the Critical Zone, and who can strengthen links to related
departments (e.g. Geology, Biology, Chemistry), are encouraged to apply. A
background in stable isotope biogeochemistry wouldn't hurt! The 'official'
advertisement is below.

   *Assistant Professor of Environmental Science*

Colorado College invites applications for a tenure-track assistant
professor in our interdisciplinary Environmental Program, to begin Fall
2014. We seek a broadly-trained environmental scientist enthusiastic about
working in a liberal arts college setting and taking advantage of the
experiential learning opportunities offered by Colorado College’s unique
block plan. We are committed to increasing the diversity of the Colorado
College community. Candidates who contribute to that goal, including women
and minorities, are particularly encouraged to apply, and to identify
relevant strengths or experiences. The ideal candidate will teach
introduction to global climate change, along with interdisciplinary courses
on energy and thermodynamics, environmental biogeochemistry, and an
advanced offering in the candidate’s specialty. Collaborative research with
undergraduate students is highly valued, and the successful candidate will
supervise senior theses and independent projects in conjunction with the
development of their own research program. A PhD in a field related to
environmental science is expected by the time of appointment. Submit cover
letter, curriculum vitae, teaching statement, research statement, graduate
and undergraduate transcripts, and three letters of recommendation
electronically on the Colorado College Employment Career Site:
https://employment.coloradocollege.edu/. Application materials should be
received by December 15, 2013. Phone interviews will take place in
mid-January, with campus interviews to follow. Equal Opportunity Employer:
Colorado College welcomes members of all groups and reaffirms its
commitment not to discriminate on the basis of race, color, age, religion,
sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, national
origin, or disability in its educational programs, activities, and
employment practices.
