The Department of Environmental, Geographical, and Geological Sciences at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania is advertising two tenure-track positions. Descriptions and links are listed below.

Bloomsburg University of PA invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level (AA# 41-3-53) to begin fall semester 2014. We seek a Soil Scientist with a focus on Food Systems/Agricultural Science. The successful candidate will be expected to teach upper-level courses in soils science and food systems/agricultural science as well as introductory courses in geography and environmental science to complete a 12-hour per semester teaching load. The successful candidate will participate in service to the department, develop an active research program that involves undergraduates and will seek external funding. Preference will be given to candidates with a focus on applications that will complement the developing Center for Earth and Environmental Sciences within the Department of Environmental, Geographical and Geological Sciences. Applicant must have a Ph.D. or doctorate from an accredited institution by August 22, 2015.
The preferred candidate will have experience teaching in classroom, laboratory settings, and in the field, a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, and demonstrate an ability to work with diverse populations. Finalists for this position must communicate well and successfully complete an interview process including a teaching demonstration. The successful candidate must be recommended by the majority of the regular, full-time faculty. Prior to a final offer of employment the selected candidate will be required to submit to a background check including, but not limited to, employment verification, educational and other credential verification and criminal background check.

Bloomsburg University of PA invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level (AA# 41-3-52) to begin fall semester 2014. We seek a geographer (or scientist from a related discipline) with expertise in Land Use and Land Cover Change. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of geospatial technologies applied to environmental land use change is required. The successful candidate will teach upper-level courses in land use change and environmental applications of geospatial technologies as well as introductory courses in geography and/or environmental science to complete a 12-hour per semester teaching load, participate in service to the department, and maintain an active research program. Preference will be given to applicants that will complement the developing Center for Earth and Environmental Sciences within the Department of Environmental, Geographical and Geological Sciences. A Ph.D. from an accredited institution is required by August 23, 2015.
