Now Accepting Applications: Postdoctoral Scholar in Population
Demographic and Species Distribution Modeling*
The Alpine Treeline Warming Experiment (ATWE) invites applications for a
postdoctoral scholar to model effects of climate change on subalpine
tree species demography and distributions to start January 1, 2014. The
ATWE is a collaborative experiment examining climatic constraints to
subalpine tree establishment and growth at and beyond high elevation
treeline to better predict dynamic changes in the distribution of high
elevation forests. More information, including collaborators and
publications, can be found at https://alpine.ucmerced.edu/pub/htdocs/.
The successful candidate will be based in Berkeley and have the
opportunity to interact with collaborators at UC Berkeley, Lawrence
Berkeley National Laboratory, UC Merced, University of Colorado,
Boulder, and USGS. Qualified candidates with an interest in population
genetic variation, ecosystem feedbacks to climate change, or treeline
dynamics are strongly encouraged to apply. The position is available for
one year, with extension dependent on funding and performance.
