Short description for an Experienced Researcher Fellowship:
Transformations of nitrogen compounds are known to play a significant
role in the degradation of various contaminants in aquatic systems.
The focus of the Research Fellow’s activities will be the
investigation of nitrogen transformation processes related to
contaminant degradation. This includes the planning and supervision of
laboratory method developments and of laboratory and
pilot scale experiments. The fellow will conduct a field scale
assessment of the potential relevance of nitrogen transformations for
remediation management at the ADVOCATE field sites.
The Fellow’s responsibilities will also include the site specific
investigation of the acceptance and sustainability of nitrogen
transformation-based remediation strategies by stakeholders,
considering relevant inputs in the decision-making process.
