The American Museum of Natural History seeks an entry level Lab

Position Summary:
Responsible for assisting and training staff and students with Scanning
Electron Microscopy, X-ray microanalysis, Laser Scanning Confocal
Microscopy, Cathodoluminescence Spectroscopy, X-ray Computed Tomography,
specimen preparation and image processing and printing; maintain
functionality and capability of lab equipment; order supplies and track
usage and expenditures; and interact with curatorial staff and students
on diverse projects using microscopy and digital imaging in the fields
of zoology, paleontology, anthropology, archaeology, and earth and
planetary sciences.
Required Qualifications
BA or BS required; knowledge of scanning electron beam instruments,
microanalysis, digital image acquisition, and computer
hardware/software; familiar with CT and 2D/3D image processing.
Preferred Qualifications
Possess manual dexterity and mechanical capability; patience,
willingness to learn, flexibility, excellent organizational and
interpersonal skills; at least one year of full-time scanning electron
microscopy or CT experience desired; undergraduate major in physical
science preferred.
