ATMOSPHERIC SCIENCES DATA SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

Lyndon State College is seeking an individual with knowledge and experience in computer science and meteorology to oversee and manage the equipment, lab, computing clusters, data and web servers, workstations, and network of the Atmospheric Sciences Department, including satellite reception, Internet data delivery, local data collection, radiosonde system, portable surface weather stations, and the WSI TruVu MAX system. This position serves as the Unidata site manager, maintains the operation and integrity of the departmental network, supervises students workers in the atmospheric sciences laboratory, and serves as the web master for the departmental website. Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and experience with UNIX administration (Linux preferred), meteorology data, meteorology software (Unidata-supported applications preferred), programming (shell scripting; Perl and/or Python preferred), administering web servers (LAMP experience desired), Windows administration in a domain environment, and compiling and linking computer code.



Anticipated starting salary range $34,000 - $37,000, with a generous benefits package including 20 vacation days, personal and medical leave, TIAA-CREF retirement plan, comprehensive insurance package, and tuition benefit for self and eligible family members.
