Drs. Riley Dunlap and Beth Caniglia are seeking a creative and energetic
post-doctoral research associate to work with an interdisciplinary team to
examine human-environment interactions under increased climate variability.
The ideal candidate will have solid social science training, evidence of
strong methodological and statistical experience, and a sincere interest in
collaborating with social and natural sciences.  The candidate will have
extensive opportunity to interact with faculty at Oklahoma State
University, the University of Oklahoma, the Nobel Research Center and the
South Central Climate Science Center and be a central team member on NSF
and related projects.****

*Qualifications*****

Applicants must have a doctoral degree in sociology or related social
sciences. Database and dataset construction and management is extremely
desirable, as is familiarity with the literature on coupled human-natural
systems (CHANS). Fluency in English and keeping a valid Oklahoma drivers
license are required.****

This position is an excellent opportunity for a motivated, emerging
scientist to contribute independent work to a highly collaborative project
involving social, physical and natural scientists. Extensive experience
working as a member of an interdisciplinary team, managing students and
overseeing data collection, coding and analysis will result. Salary is
competitive and negotiable. The position is available for one year with
strong potential for extension up to an additional four years for the right

Oklahoma State University has an enrollment of about 25,000 students and is
located in Stillwater, a college town with a permanent population around
50,000. OSU-Stillwater is a tobacco-free campus. The Carnegie Foundation
classifies OSU as a “High Research Activity” campus. Stillwater enjoys a
rich academic and cultural environment in a safe and inexpensive community.
It is within one-hour driving distance from Oklahoma City and Tulsa.****
