[EMP2012] Question for Wednesday meeting (or before)

A question for this Wednesday's meeting; or before if it can be resolved
offline:

Jay Pasachoff passed along the URL of his web site at Williams with an
archive of lots of nice images of past eclipses. Someone (Hugh?) passed
along the URL of Miloslav Druckmuller's web site which contains some
truly stunning images. I'm wondering about acquiring rights for using
these images on our web sites, app, other electronic media (such as PDFs
of activity writeups) and print materials.

1) Jay, what is your (and collaborating colleagues' or Williams') policy
with regards to use of these images for educational purposes by
non-profit entities such as UCAR (I presume the Berkeley folks would
want to know the same)?

2) Does anyone in the group personally know Miloslav Druckmuller? If
yes, would you be willing to ask about use permission for his images?

Basically, to use these materials we need the copyright holders to sign
off on a statement something like this:

"I agree to allow UCAR and the Berkeley SSL to use my images for
educational purposes on web sites, in apps, and in other electronic
media as well as in print materials."

This doesn't need to be super formal; an email suffices.

Thanks,
Randy
