For those that haven't seen the Today at UCAR announcement, there's been a
slight change in the trenching plans that ML cyclists need to be aware
of. They'll do a short dirt detour and (reading between the lines) leave
the trench open rather than covering it with steel plates after-hours.
Don't fall in if you're walking the road.

ML Road Crossing Construction #1

Road crossing construction to install new power lines under the lower
part of Mesa Lab Road will begin Monday, July 13. The work is
expected to take 2-4 days.

The plan has changed slightly. Rather than having two half-road
closures the Contractor will create a short dirt road detour around
the entire lower crossing area and perform work across both lanes at
one time. This will allow the work to be completed faster. Flagmen
will be present to help direct traffic through the detour during
normal hours. At all other times, please use caution through the
detour area. Bicyclists, please use our shuttles to transport your
bikes to and from ML while this work is underway.

Thank you for your patience. We are working hard to minimize Mesa
Lab access disruptions. The second (upper) crossing will be
announced at a later date.
