crisis that many in our field have indicated they wish would be addressed professionally. Dr. Pope-Ruark is the director of the Office of Faculty Professional Development at Georgia Institute of Technology. She is the author of Unraveling Faculty Burnout:
Pathways to Reckoning and Renewal, and is an ACC-credentialed coach through the International Coaching Federation.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Leaders can have a big impact on those they lead when it comes to stress and burnout. In this workshop, we’ll explore what burnout is and how it impacts individuals and organizations, then learn to have a
compassionate conversation with a direct report or colleagues you suspect may be experiencing burnout.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="font-size:11.0pt">01:30-03:30 – Plenary Session: Unraveling Burnout for Scientists<o:p></o:p></span></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">It’s a challenging time to be a scientist right now, and levels of burnout are higher than ever. But what is burnout, exactly, and how does it impact us as researchers or academics? What can you do to mitigate
burnout in your day-to-day work? In this workshop, we will examine what burnout is and where it comes from and then look at three lenses for mitigating the impacts of burnout on individuals: articulating purpose, leveraging connections, and creating balance.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">As mentioned above, because the coaching sessions are limited, you must sign up to enter into a lottery system that will select 8-10 people per session by random chance. You will be notified prior to the event
if you were selected, or if you are on a wait-list. Waitlisted participants are welcome to wait at the door in case there are any no-shows. Waitlisted participants will be notified of cancellations or permitted entry based on their randomized order during
