<p>Dear Colleagues (sorry for cross-posting, if any),<br>
<br>
We would like to draw your attention to the session G11: <b>Nowcasting
and forecasting Travelling Ionospheric Disturbances for
ionospheric weather and mitigation services</b>, at upcoming <b>URSI
AP-RASC 2025</b> conference (<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://ap-rasc.com/home.php">https://ap-rasc.com/home.php</a>) which
will be held in Sydney, Australia, from 17 to 22 August 2025. The
session description follows:<br>
<br>
Travelling Ionospheric Disturbances (<b>TIDs</b>) are significant
perturbations in the ionosphere that can adversely affect radio
communications, navigation systems, and surveillance operations
due to rapid changes in electron density. Accurate nowcasting and
forecasting of TIDs are essential for developing ionospheric
weather services and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
This session focuses on the latest advancements in detecting,
modelling, and predicting TIDs to support operational services. We
invite contributions that address innovative observational
techniques, including ground-based and satellite-based
measurements, data assimilation methods, and the development of
physics-based or empirical models for TID prediction. Studies
exploring the underlying physical mechanisms, sources of TIDs, and
their propagation characteristics are also encouraged. The session
aims to facilitate discussions that enhance the reliability of TID
forecasts and improve mitigation services for users impacted by
ionospheric disturbances.<br>
<br>
Please, consider session G11 of the URSI AP-RASC 2025 conference
to submit your contributions. The abstract submissions can be done
through the conference submission website:
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://ap-rasc.com/papersubmission.php">https://ap-rasc.com/papersubmission.php</a>. <b>The deadline for
abstract submission is 20 February 2025</b>.</p>
<p>We look forward to receiving your contributions and to your
presence at the G11 session of the URSI AP-RASC 2025 conference.<br>
<br>
Best regards on behalf of Session G11 Conveners, Geoff Crowley,
Anna Belehaki, David Altadill, Sivakandan Mani<br>
