 Compound, and Cascading Hazards (EC2H)</a>. </span><span style="font-family: Garamond, serif;">The DCL encourages submission of proposals that advance our fundamental understanding of natural disasters, extreme events, and other natural hazards</span><span style="font-family: Garamond, serif;"> </span><b style="font-family: Garamond, serif; font-size: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-ligatures: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit;">including
 extreme space weather</b><span style="font-family: Garamond, serif;">.  The focus is on proposals that explore:  1) system of systems approaches, 2) cascading or compound hazards, 3) interactions between longer-term trends and extreme events, and 4) processes
