This position will provide scientific support to the studies on the observation errors and quality controls of radio occultation (RO) observation, and, furthermore, studies to optimize the GNSS-RO data assimilation. This work will be performed using the Unified Forward Operator (UFO) as part of the Joint Effort for Data Assimilation Integration (JEDI). JEDI is a new data assimilation system being developed at Joint Center for Satellite Data Assimilation (JCSDA) and slated to be a next-generation system at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), <span style="margin:0px;padding:0px;border:0px none;font:inherit;vertical-align:baseline">the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (</span>NASA), Navy, Air Force, and the UK Met Office, as well as a community system for academia and the private sector.</p><p dir="LTR" style="margin:0px;padding:0px;border:0px none;font-variant-numeric:inherit;font-variant-east-asian:inherit;font-stretch:inherit;font-size:14px;line-height:inherit;font-family:Roboto,"Helvetica Neue",Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;vertical-align:baseline;color:rgb(74,74,74);white-space:pre-wrap">This position will be a part of the JCSDA Observations Team and will collaborate with the COSMIC program.
