Department of Physics and Technology </a>announces a vacant position of a
Researcher attached to the project "Capacity building EISCAT_3D",
funded by the UiT strategic funds. The appointment is permanent with funding
for a period of minimum 4 years. The Researcher will work at the interface
between the radar research infrastructure and users in particular on the data
access, data management and visualization for the new EISCAT_3D radar.</font></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 8pt;line-height:107%"><font face="arial, sans-serif">We offer an interesting position combining academic research
with applied tasks of project management and outreach, good remuneration, and
excellent work environment. There are plenty of opportunities for national and
international collaboration.</font></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 8pt;line-height:107%"><font face="arial, sans-serif">The position will be part of <a href="https://en.uit.no/forskning/forskningsgrupper/gruppe?p_document_id=397987" target="_blank" style="color:blue">the Space Physics group </a>of the Department. The
research group addresses the Earth's upper atmosphere, the ionosphere and the
magnetosphere and related plasma physics. For this position we are looking for
a candidate who will actively participate in the work for the EISCAT_3D radar
infrastructure now under construction.</font></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 8pt;line-height:107%"><font face="arial, sans-serif">In 2020, the Space Physics group will count 7 faculty
members, 10 PhD students, and 2 Postdoctoral Fellows and 1 Researcher.</font></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 8pt;line-height:107%"><span style="line-height:107%"><font face="arial, sans-serif">The workplace
is at UiT in Tromsø. You must be able to start in the position in Tromsø within
a reasonable time, (within 6 months), after receiving the offer.</font></span></p>
