Understanding these coupling processes remains challenging because they span a broad range of spatial and temporal scales - from global magnetospheric dynamics to kinetic-scale plasma processes - and involve distinct plasma populations that require different physical descriptions across the magnetosphere, ring current, and ionosphere-thermosphere. In this seminar, I will present recent advances in multiscale MIT coupling studies using the *Multiscale Atmosphere-Geospace Environment (MAGE)* model. Developed through the NASA DRIVE Science Center for Geospace Storms, MAGE is a two-way coupled whole-geospace model that self-consistently resolves solar wind-magnetosphere-ionosphere-thermosphere interactions across multiple scales. I will demonstrate how MAGE captures both global-scale geospace dynamics and mesoscale structures, including subauroral polarization streams (SAPS) and traveling ionospheric and atmospheric disturbances (TIDs/TADs), as well as the ionosphere-thermosphere response to interplanetary drivers over a wide range of timescales. These results highlight the importance of accurately representing magnetospheric forcing for reliable simulations of multiscale magnetosphere-ionosphere-thermosphere coupling and space weather.
