sessions during the GEM 2026 Workshop. We have three stand-alone and four
joint sessions this year. A short information about each session can be
found below and through our MPEC FG Wikipage:
https://gem.epss.ucla.edu/mediawiki/index.php/FG:_Magnetospheric_Sources_of_Particle_Precipitation_and_Their_Role_on_Electrodynamic_Coupling_of_Magnetosphere-Ionosphere-Thermosphere_Systems

If you would like to present in any of the following sessions, please
e-mail Dong Lin (dlin7 at clemson.edu) and Dogacan Su Ozturk (
dsozturk at alaska.edu).

Stand-alone Sessions:

1. MPEC: Advances in understanding precipitation sources and effects in the
coupled MIT system through observations

This stand-alone MPEC session will focus on advances in understanding
precipitation sources and effects in the coupled MIT system utilizing
observations. The format is a series of solicited short talks by community
members.

Date/time: Monday, July 13, at 10.30-12.00 in Room VT/NH

2. MPEC: Advances in understanding precipitation sources and effects in the
coupled MIT system through modelling

This stand-alone MPEC session will focus on advances in understanding
precipitation sources and effects in the coupled MIT system utilizing
numerical models. The format is a series of solicited short talks by
community members.

Date/time: Tuesday, July 14, at 13.30-15.00 in Room CT/RI

3. MPEC: Discussion of the goals and next steps for the MPEC Focus Group
with the community

This MPEC session will focus on a community discussion on the future of
auroral precipitation and conductance research within the GEM community. We
invite all interested researchers to participate in the discussion session.

Date/time: Thursday, July 16, at 13.30-15.00 in Room CT/RI

Joint Sessions:

1. MLGEM/MPEC/GIC/MAC Sessions on Monday (July 13) and Wednesday (July 15)
13.30-15.00 at VT/NH

These sessions are joint sessions led by MLGEM RG. Please contact the MLGEM
RG for further information.

2. RBSoS/MPEC Joint Session on Wednesday, July 15 15.30-17.00 at VT/NH

This session focuses on precipitation from radiation belts. Please contact
RBSoS and MPEC FG leads for further information and presentation slots.

3. MAC/MESO/MPEC Joint Session on Friday, July 17 10.30-12.00 at VT/NH

This session focuses on the goals and outcomes of MPEC that are synergistic
