Dear Colleagues,

The Space Weather & Aeronomy Laboratory, Department of Physics at IIT Roorkee is looking for a postdoctoral fellow to work on a project within the broad theme of space weather modulation of thermospheric energetics.  

The work combines satellite and ground-based observations with global models such as TIE-GCM, WACCM-X, CESM to understand the energy channels in magnetosphere-ionosphere-thermosphere system and their variability during extreme space weather events. There is room to shape the specific direction around your strengths and interest. 

We are looking for a Ph.D. in atmospheric physics, space physics, plasma physics
or a related field, experience with data analysis and atmospheric modelling,
and a strong programming background.

The position is for two years, with a consolidated fellowship and an annual
contingency grant. Please note that eligibility is restricted to Indian
nationals.
