Hi Everyone!
On June 27 (Friday) at CEDAR-GEM 2025, there will be a "Career Development
for Early and Mid-Career Scientists" session hosted by Lynn Harvey (
lynn.harvey at lasp.colorado.edu), Allison Jaynes (allison-n-jaynes at uiowa.edu),
Aidan Thayer (at968 at njit.edu), and myself. Please see here
<https://cedarscience.org/workshop/2025-workshop-career-development-early-and-mid-career-scientists>
for
more details. As we solidify our schedule, we are looking for folks who
would be interested in giving 3-5 minute (2 slide) lightning talks that
convey a focused message to early career scientists. Solicited topics
include the “How to's” of: building a strong investigator network,
excelling at conferences, writing impactful peer-reviewed manuscripts,
delivering effective presentations, writing successful proposals,
implementing time management strategies, and general advice, tips, and
tricks to having a successful career as a scientist.* Please share your
wisdom and lessons learned, or nominate someone you know who does any of
these things well by reaching out to us by May 30.*
Please let us know if you have any questions, and we look forward to seeing
you at CEDAR-GEM 2025!
Best,
Lindsay Goodwin, on behalf of the conveners
