Greetings CEDAR community,

We are pleased to announce that the submission deadline for the Earth, Planets
and Space special issue on the remarkable geomagnetic storms of 2024 has been extended.
The final deadline is 31 October 2025.

This special issue offers an opportunity to publish new scientific findings in the
international open-access journal Earth, Planets and Space.

For details about the journal, the special issue, and instructions for submitting your manuscript,

Special Issue Title:
Extreme Space Weather Events in May 2024: New Discoveries and Future Challenges

About the Collection
This special issue invites contributions that advance our understanding of space weather phenomena, with particular emphasis on the intense geomagnetic storms of May 2024. We welcome studies that address different aspects of the Sun–Earth connection. Papers that integrate both observations and simulations are especially encouraged, with a focus on improving space weather prediction capabilities and clarifying the impacts on both natural environments and human-made systems.

We look forward to receiving your valuable contributions.

Best regards,

Guest Editors:
Yoshi Miyoshi (ISEE, Nagoya University), Takuya Tsugawa (NICT), Shin Toriumi (JAXA)
Thomas Immel (University of California, Berkeley), Nat Gopalswamy (NASA),
Masahito Nose (Nagoya City University)
