Applications are invited for graduate (MSc/PhD) student positions in the
Space Physics research group at the University of Alberta working under
Prof. Ian Mann. A number of positions are available for funded Masters
and/or PhD students.
Potential projects available include space-based instrumentation, solar
wind-magnetosphere-ionosphere coupling, inner-magnetosphere and radiation
belt science, space weather science, and assessing geomagnetically induced
currents (GICs) in the electric power grid.
Applicants for Masters or PhD study should apply directly to the Department
of Physics at the University of Alberta. The start date for graduate
students is conditional upon acceptance at the University of Alberta, but
paid undergraduate internships could precede the start of graduate studies
by mutual agreement.
Informal enquiries can be made to Prof. Ian Mann at spacephy at ualberta.ca.
More details of potential projects and instructions on how to apply can be
found at https://spacephysics.ca/opportunities2024/.
