Dear colleagues,

On behalf of the CEDAR Science Steering Committee and entire CEDAR community, it is my pleasure to announce the recipients of the 2022 CEDAR Awards.

Anthea Coster of MIT Haystack Observatory has been selected for the 2022 CEDAR Distinguished Lecture Award. Anthea Coster is recognized for her sustained and extensive contributions to CEDAR science for almost 40 years. She made seminal contributions to the state of the profession, enabling the CEDAR community to conduct ionospheric research at spatio-temporal scales that were not achievable before. Her pioneering work on introducing and relating GPS measurements to fundamental research has led the community to employ GNSS as a viable and information-rich sensor for ionospheric remote sensing and space weather monitoring. She tirelessly advocated for CEDAR science by serving on many space science and navigational committees.

Larry Lyons of University of California, Los Angeles has been selected to give the CEDAR Prize Lecture. Larry is recognized for his sustained and unparalleled contributions to the understanding of Earth’s magnetosphere-ionosphere coupling. His recent discovery of the direct connection between auroral oval streamers/flow channels and equatorward traveling ionospheric disturbances is of major importance for CEDAR science, and is seen as one of his significant and impactful contributions to the CEDAR community.

The Distinguished Lecture and Prize Lecture will be given at the 2022 CEDAR meeting, which will be held in-person in Austin, TX between 19-24 June 2022. Registration is now open at the 2022 CEDAR workshop page<https://cedarscience.org/2022-workshop>.

Congratulation to Anthea and Larry!
