Dear colleagues,
Hopefully, you are aware of the forthcoming XXXIV General Assembly and
Scientific Symposium (GASS) of the International Union of Radio Science to
be held 28 August – 4 September, 2021 – Sapienza University Campus, Rome,
Italy: https://www.ursi2021.org/. The URSI committee will implement a
hybrid option for the meeting, allowing both on-site and remote
participation.

We would like to attract your attention to the joint session BG of
Commissions B and G: “BG High-frequency wave propagation in highly
disturbed ionosphere”. *Conveners: Nikolay Zernov, Vadim Gherm, and Charles
Carrano*. The description of this Session is as follows:

“The session is aimed to discuss the analytic and numerical methods for
treating the problems of the high-frequency wave propagation in the
conditions of highly disturbed ionosphere. In particular, this includes the
effects of mesoscale ionospheric structures as in the high-latitude, or
equatorial ionosphere, which may be additionally associated with the
effects of the field strong scintillation due to fluctuations of the
electron density of the ionosphere. Adjacent problems of the high-frequency
ionospheric propagation are also welcome”.

We would be pleased if you were interested in the subject of this Session
and would like to contribute to its activities. The deadline for submitting
a paper has been extended to *February 12, 2021*, and Notification of
acceptance is March 15, 2021. Paper submission was opened on November 15,
2020.

Sincerely
C. Carrano, N. Zernov, and V. Gherm
