Dear Colleague,
it is our pleasure to invite you to submit your research work to the
Session G09 “Limits of predictability of ionosphere behavior” of the 3rd
URSI Atlantic Meeting AT-AP-RASC 2022, scheduled to take place in Gran
Canaria, Spain, from May 30 to June 4, 2022. The webpage of the conference
is: https://www.atrasc.com/home.php. Please take into account that the
event will be hybrid, so that both in presence and virtual participation
are possible.
The topic of this Session is to which extent the near-Earth plasma is
predictable in terms of the physics of dynamical systems and statistical
results. Ionospheric models attempt to predict ionospheric parameters
variations, but there have been always unresolved differences between
modelled quantities and real measurements. To determine and understand such
mismatch is essential to define the predictability of the ionospheric
parameters, making use also of modern techniques like big data and machine
learning. It has to be considered too that near-Earth plasma is highly
non-linear.
The Session G09 intends to have contributions dealing with recent results
of prediction models, numerical simulations, case studies and theoretical
aspects of the problem.
We will appreciate the interest in presenting the results of your work in
our session. Note please that the abstract submission deadline is January
15, 2022.
