Geospace / CEDAR community,

We invite you to participate in our CEDAR Workshop session on "Model Systems Engineering" http://cedarweb.vsp.ucar.edu/wiki/index.php/2020_Workshop:Model_systems_engineering
held on Thursday June 25 from 3-5pm Mountain (Denver) Time, 5-7pm Eastern (New York) Time

We will discuss the "how" of science closure from a software engineering perspective, with particular focus on interfacing aeronomy and ionosphere models. This session is targeted to those developing software with geospace models, from student to senior career.
Topics covered in this session include:

General techniques / tools
--------------------------------------
* Resen: REproducible Software ENvironment
* Managing development of large physics-based models
* Using CMake, Git and CI to connect and test multi-language geospace model ensembles across multi-institution teams

Technique implementations with broader applicability
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
* Melding ISR data into GITM
* Modeling ISR processing chains with SimISR
* user-friendly Matlab and Python interfaces to a 3D object-oriented Fortran ITM model (Gemini3D)

We intend to conclude the session with 20-30 minutes of group discussion.

If you would like to contribute a short or standard talk please reach out to the convenors:
