Announcement of a Special IRI Issue of Advances in Space Research
>From Dieter Bilitza (dbilitza at gmu.edu) and Bodo Reinisch
Papers are invited for a special topical issue of Advances in Space Research (ASR) on Improved Real-time Ionospheric Predictions with IRI and FORMOSAT-3/COSMIC and other GNSS Data. The International Reference Ionosphere (IRI) is an observation-based standard model of the ionosphere that is a joint project of the Committee on Space Research (COSPAR) and the International Union of Radio Science (URSI). The International Standardization Organization (ISO) and the European Cooperation for Space Standardizatio (ECSS) have elected IRI as the standard for the ionosphere. This special issue is open to all scientists who may have an appropriate scientific paper related to ionospheric modelling in the context of the IRI project including comparisons with new data sources, and global, regional, and local improvements and applications of the IRI model. Of special interests are studies dealing with improvements of IRI with FORMOSAT-3/COSMIC and Other GNSS data and on the development of the Real-Time IRI. The manuscript submission site is at https://ees.elsevier.com/asr/mainpage.html. Please select “IRI and Formosat-3/COSMIC" in the special issue (SI) drop-down. There are no page limits although the length of the paper should be appropriate for the material being presented. The hard deadline for submissions is May 15, 2018. Papers will undergo peer review and will be published electronically as soon as they are accepted. The printed issue will be assembled within a reasonable time with late papers being printed in regular issues of ASR. Dieter Bilitza and Bodo Reinisch are the Guest Editors for this special issue.
