CASPER 2017 and Student Funding

typically attended by 80 - 100 international astronomy digital signal
processing experts, the CASPER workshop is a semi-annual meeting where
FPGA, GPU, and general heterogeneous system programmers discuss new
instruments in radio astronomy, as well as the tools and libraries needed
for developing and manipulating these instruments. This year, the workshop
will focus on the newest generation of the CASPER toolflow "JASPER" and the
hardware it is designed to support.

The workshop runs for one week, the 14th - 18th August, and consists of
presentations in the morning, followed by various hands-on tutorials and
breakout sessions in the afternoon.

Details of the conference can be found at: http://www.tauceti.
caltech.edu/casper-workshop-2017/, and information on CASPER generally at
https://casper.berkeley.edu/. Presentations from previous workshops typical
of the topics represented can be found at: https://casper.berkeley.
edu/wiki/Workshop_2014_Schedule.

Registration for the workshop is scheduled to close on June 30, though late
registration can be organized via the LOC (casper2017 at lists.astro.
caltech.edu). Funding is available to support US-based student attendance,
please contact the LOC for further details.

Many thanks,

The CASPER 2017 LOC.
