This position is included within a specialty that is managerial in nature and involves planning and coordination of NASA programs in research, the development and operations of missions and instrumentation, and utilization of available resources in Heliophysics science and related fields. NASA's Heliophysics Division conducts basic scientific research and implements flight missions to understand the Sun and its interaction with the Earth and the solar system, including space weather. Heliophysics incorporates studies of the interconnected elements into a single system, as such the scientist will have a understanding of the broad system science nature of Heliophysics.
