CEDAR email: Two postdoc positions at the University of Southampton

The Space Environment Physics group at the University of Southampton is 
advertising two postdoctoral positions:

- A 3 year fixed-term postdoctoral position on magnetopause reconnection
- A 2 year fixed-term postdoctoral position on magnetotail energy loss

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research position on the 
topic of magnetopause reconnection in the Space Environment Physics 
group at the University of Southampton. The successful candidate will 
study time-varying reconnection using data from NASA's upcoming 
Magnetospheric Multi-Scale (MMS) mission, which is due for launch in 
October. The position is funded by an STFC Ernest Rutherford Grant, and 
is tenable from 1st October 2014. This is a fixed-term position 
available for 3 years, but future extension may be possible. The salary 
is in the range £28,132 - £34,565 per annum, and is dependent on 
experience. The post is available from 1st October 2014. Informal

Applications are also invited for a postdoctoral research position on 
the topic of magnetotail energy loss in the Space Environment Physics 
group at the University of Southampton.  The successful candidate will 
study the properties of magnetotail reconnection and plasmoid release 
using several spacecraft in the terrestrial magnetotail. The position is 
funded by a NERC grant, and is tenable from 1st October 2014 for 2 
years. The salary is in the range £28,132 - £34,565 per annum, and is 
dependent on experience. The post is available from 1st October 2014.
