[cam-users] CAM-MPI issues

Hello cam-users,

After several weeks of intense work attempting to run CAM3.0 on the Yale
linux cluster, it still does not work.  The cluster uses the newest
version of MPI/LAM, which does not have MPI_REAL8 in the mpif.h file, so
CAM3.0 will not compile.  We were able to compile CAM using MPI with
ssh, however using this MPI CAM starts to run but abruptly dies with no
error messages before any timesteps are output.  Our current conclusion,
unless any of you have any ideas about this, is that CAM3.0 will not run
on this platform using these MPI versions.

Perhaps a newer version of CAM will have better portability?
