The SST's are determined analytically via the formula:
T = 27 * ( 1. - sin**2 {lat*90./60.} ) [for |lat| < 60 deg]
T = 0. [for |lat| >= 60 deg]
T = deg C
lat = deg.
So SST's are zonally symmetric (with a peak centered on the equator) and
static throughout the model run. The values created from the above formula
supercede any other specification of SST's in the model.
... also, because the minimum SST is 0 deg.C, the formation of sea-ice
is not triggered.
