Hi,
My name is Kyle Hatcher, and I am helping with research for the Atmospheric
Science Department at Oregon State University. I am currently using the CAM
3.0 software, running on blackforest, and saving to the MSS. I successfully
ran the model with an interval of 500 days, and it wrote to my path:
/HATCHERK/csm/camrun/... This was only a test though for me to gain
familiarity with the system. What I really wanted was to run it over a 10-year
span, and only record certain variables. I modified the run-ibm.csh script to
handle this, and it appeared to be working. It was supposed to run first in
initial mode, for 1-year, and then launch in restart mode for the other 9.
Unfortunately, the restart run did not kick in. I tried to run it in restart
manually, and it did not work at all. From that point onward, I noticed that
the history files were no longer getting built as they had before. During my
1-year run, I had accumulated a year's worth of data, in month long files.
Afterwards, it was only doing 1 day's worth, if any. I thought that the
pointer might have gotten confused, and so I tried changing my casename in the
script, but that didn't run at all. I also tried clearing out my hist, rest,
and init directories on MSS, as well as the pointers, and rebuilding and
re-running in init mode as though it was my first time, and it still will not
write anything out. If you could answer any or all of these questions, I would
truly appreciate it. Thanks.
1. What do I need to do in order to resume writing normally to the mss?
2. How do I write to a different casename?
3. What do I need to do to allow my script to pick up where it left off on its
own?
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Kyle.
