Yeah, that wasn't documented on that page. To look at
the control simulations go to...

this is setup to reproduce the "newsstclim06"
simulation that is under Mass Store in ...
/ROSINSKI/csm/newsstclim06
See the following web-page for information on this simulation.

After running example 9, you can compare the output history
files to the files under "/ROSINSKI/csm/newsstclim06".
Provided compilers haven't changed significantly, they
should provide identical answers. If the compilers have
changed it's possible they will be different. It's been
long enough ago that it's likely the answers will be different.
If you compare TS you should at least see identical answers over
ocean though.
