Thanks for your previous reply. i compiled the WRF for GRIB2 version succesfuly, and then I installed three needed libaraies (libpng-zlib, and jasper), but after compiling WPS, i can not see the ungrib.exe. i tried different path to theses libaraires in the /.bashrc, but it still doesn't work. how could i solve this problem?

1- should i install all of libraries as root ?
2- should i install all of the them in the same directory?

Best Regards

Ehsan Beigi

On Mon, Apr 25, 2011 at 7:37 PM, wrfhelp <wrfhelp@ucar.edu> wrote:
You need to install these libbraries before you build WPS.

They can be in different places other than where you will build
WRF/WPS. Only that you need to set correct path to make them
accessible when you build WPS.
i would be grateful if you could answer flowing questions:
1- the jasper, libpng, and zlib are necessary for wrf grib2 or for
wps grib2, can i link them with netcdf by using this command
CC=icc FC=ifort ./configure --prefix=/home/ehsan/netcdf

Please install
netCDF v3.6.x instead of V4 and above version. This
is because WRF is not consistent to higher version

Thanks for your previous help. I am installing
netcdf.4.1.2 and before that i installed zlib
, libpng and jasper library which is needed
for WPS. when i want to install netcdf, it
asks for curl directory which make me to
install curl. my question is that : would it
be possible to use this command for sharing
other installed libraries with netcdf:

CC=icc FC=ifort ./configure
--prefix=/home/ehsan/netcdf
