A description of the session is included below.

Session Description: The development and testing of agricultural models has lagged that of climate models. Yet agricultural models have the ability to simulate the effects of climate and management on crop yields, making them essential tools for regional adaptation and world food security. This session will focus on improving the interface between climate and agricultural models for impacts assessments. Topics of particular interest include: the creation of climate scenarios using dynamical and statistical models, the response of crop productivity to extreme temperature and precipitation events, scaling point-based agricultural models to larger regions, and innovative methods of utilizing agricultural models to evaluate adaptation strategies.

The 2010 AGU Fall Meeting is December 13-17, 2010 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, California, USA.

http://www.agu.org/meetings/fm10/

The deadline to submit an abstract for this session is September 2, 2010, at 23:59 Eastern Daylight Time. AGU will not accept late submissions. To submit an abstract, you must be an AGU member or sponsored by an AGU member.
