The UCAR COMET Program announces a postdoctoral scientist position in

of numerical weather prediction research and education. UCAR
postdoctoral

with National Weather Service (NWS) and UCAR scientists on developing
enhancements to WRF-EMS and conducts research on applied forecasting
topics. Works with the WRF-EMS team to provide support services for the
user
community, including assistance to NWS Science and Operations Officers
on
research projects. Works with the COMET NWP development team to enhance
the
understanding of state-of-the-art operational NWP products and
services.
Works with the COMET NWP team to coordinate and synthesize the
contributions of
external subject matter experts, and provide guidance to instructional
design
staff about development of an on-line course on effective use of NWP in
the
forecast process. Provides support for both COMET and the National
Weather
Service when requests for international training on numerical weather
prediction arise. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
