This appears to be a laps issue. I wondered if anyone else has
ran across it. This laps runs on Awips in the wfo and is being
used to hot start the wrf-arw. This a laps%namptiles run with
1 hour output.

The laps integrated liquid water which inits the total column rainwater
in the model is 3 to 4 times higher then values coming from another
init (nam, ruc, gfs). This affects the inital hour precip rates where
there
is sufficient composite reflectiviity/cloud depth producing 3 to 4 times
the amount of precip that would be expected. After the first couple of
hours the precip rates settle down to expected numbers. It also affects
the reflectivity fields in the first few hours.

Has anyone else seen this or have any idea how to fix laps to produce
a more resonable "integrated liquid water" field. I assume the laps
cloud water is also too high.

thanks,
