| Hello everyone,Please can somebody tell me if we talk about one-way nested Mesoscale to Large-eddy simulation (LES), is it run in real case or ideal case? Can we call LES when we run WRF in real case with the resolution ranging from 100km to 50m?
i have red many papers which didn't show clearly this issue. Because i found that most of time it uses TKE1.5 and Smagorinsky SGS-TKE schemes which are commonly used in ideal case. But i'm confused when i saw that some geographycal data and boundary layer condition are used to run the outer domain (Mesoscale) before the LES after running ndown.exe.
ndown.exe is supposed to be run in real case but how is the connection with LES if LES is run only in ideal case?

If somebody is an expert in such domain, please give me some references which can give me clear understanding about one-way nested mesoscale to LES.Wish to hearing from you all.
