[Wrf-users] very strange results with CLM4 in WRF as compared to NOAH

Hi,

We've been doing some comparisons of NOAH versus CLM in WRFv3.6, each
run with 3 different PBL schemes.

Comparisons against observed soundings shows very reasonable results for
the NOAH runs, but not the CLM runs.

Upon having a closer look at the outputs, there is clearly something
going wrong within the sponge zone for CLM runs.

See attached. These are identical WRF runs, except for the choice of LSM.

While i do expect some discontinuity within the relaxation zone, the CLM
outputs is just not physically plausible.

Has anyone encountered similar issues with CLM in WRF?

Cheers,

Jatin
