[Wrf-users] global high resolution elevation data?

Dear WRF Users,
Is there global high resolution elevation data such as e.g. 1 arc-second or higher? I have tried to download USGS high resolution data though the national map viewer (http://viewer.nationalmap.gov/viewer/) but there are no available products in the area  outside US. I have tried east Africa.
