[Wrf-users] Static compilation of WRF

Hello Dmitry.

No, the plan was to compile WRF statically so I would not have to install the PGI package on every machine I intended to run the model on. In addition I was hoping to be able to skip the custom setup of netCDF on every new machine.

To make a long story short, this did not work. At least, having spent two whole days on this I decided to accept defeat and just install Gfortran on my new Linux box (running Ubuntu 12.04) and do a clean install of netCDF, WRF and WPS (along with all the other libraries needed to run GRIB2 etc. etc.). This took less than three hours :)

Best, Ólafur.
