Hello,

We are wondering if other people have noticed unrealistically narrow
precipitation bands in WRF simulations using Kain Fritsch (old or
new)? These occur over the ocean in our 12-km and 4-km nests when we
have the cumulus scheme turned on and the meteorological conditions
are such that the real atmosphere develops open cellular convection.
This is generally post-frontal in relatively low stability conditions.
Attached are 24-hour accumulated total rainfall plots showing these.
