[Wrf-users] mpich2 and/or openmpi?

Dear Martin,

MPICH2 and OpenMPI are both implementations of MPI standard, i.e. indeed
they provide the same functionality, and to run WRF you will need only one
of them. Also both of them do provide mpirun. And yes, multiple versions of
MPI may co-exist on the same system, but only one of them could be
currently active (because their parts may intersect and mix badly). You can
activate or deactivate MPI implementation with different tools, for
example, mpi-selector.
