School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for Postdoctoral Research opportunities

Two opportunities for Postdoctoral Research Fellow positions are open in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology, starting immediately. The successful candidates will have opportunity to work on challenging projects with funding from EPA, NASA, DoD and other resources. The projects include developing data assimilation techniques for air quality forecasting, integrated source apportionment using chemistry/transport models, and adaptive grid modeling of air quality impacts from various emission sources. The projects will involve working on model development, performance evaluation, emission strength analysis, and application of regional air quality models. Information on projects and the research team can be found at http://lamda.ce.gatech.edu/.

The initial appointment is for one year with the possibility of renewal for additional years based on performance and continuation of funding. Salary is contingent on qualifications with full benefits. The applicant must have a Ph.D. in atmospheric sciences, environmental engineering or a related field, with experience in regional air quality modeling. Advanced scientific programming skills are essential and previous experience with models like CMAQ, CAMx, MM5, and WRF is highly desirable. To apply for these opportunities, please email a cover letter (Subject: Postdoc Application), brief statement of research interests, CV including publications list, and contact information for three persons willing to serve as references, to Dr. M. T. Odman at odman at gatech.edu. Screening of applications will begin at receipt of any full application and will continue until positions are filled.

The Georgia Institute of Technology is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer, and applications from women and under-represented minorities are encouraged.
