[Wrf-users] Understanding WRF surface layer schemes

Dear WRF users

I'm looking for any documentation on how WRF calculates surface wind
speeds and surface momentum flux over water, (in particular using the
Eta scheme).

If surface wind speed and friction velocity depend on the roughness
length, but the roughness length itself depends on the friction
velocity, where do you start? I've read the surface fluxes are computed
'by an iterative method', but haven't found any description of it.

Thanks,

Sam.
