[Wrf-users] Vertical levels for Single Column Model

Hi, Justin,
The eta_levels must be equal to the value specified in e_vert. The e_vert is required, but eta_levels is not. If e_vert=120, and you also want to set eta_leves, and you should define 120 levels for eta_leves (be careful for lowest levels due to numerically unstable). Otherwise the system will give you a 120 eta_levels if you do not set eta_levels yourself.

Subject: [Wrf-users] Vertical levels for Single Column Model

Dear Users,

I am having some trouble finding information about how the vertical
levels are specified in the WRF SCM namelist.input. I have chose
e_vert = 120 and specified 35 eta_levels.  My question is whether or
not I have 35 levels or 120 levels in my model. Below is an example
from my namelist.input.

  e_vert                              = 120,
  dx                                  = 4000,
  dy                                  = 4000,
  ztop                                = 12000.,
  eta_levels                          = 1.000, 0.998, 0.993, 0.987,
0.967,
                                        0.948, 0.932, 0.906, 0.870,
0.830,
                                        0.800, 0.750, 0.680, 0.632,
0.576,
                                        0.520, 0.468, 0.420, 0.376,
0.335,
                                        0.298, 0.263, 0.231, 0.202,
0.175,
                                        0.150, 0.127, 0.106, 0.088,
0.070,
