Dear WRF users:

Northrop Grumman Information Technology/TASC has an opening for an
atmospheric scientist with experience with the WRF modeling system.

Description: 
Candidate with be supporting projects for scientific applications
covering areas such as atmospheric modeling, network simulation, and
visualization.  Duties will include setting up, executing and analyzing
output from the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model.  In
addition, duties will include development of proprietary software used
to generate and/or analyze large data sets (multi-gigabyte to
multi-terabyte).

Requirements:
*	US citizen capable of obtaining a DoD SECRET clearance 
*	A M.S. or Ph.D. from an accredited university in Meteorology,
Atmospheric Science, or related discipline
*	Experience setting up and running the WRF model
*	Experience running jobs on a High Performance Computing (HPC)
cluster using a batch queuing system (such as PBS)
*	Several projects worth of experience using a compiled language
such as Fortran, C, or C++
*	Experience using a high level scripting language such as Python,
Perl, Ruby, or a UNIX shell

Preferences
*	Active security clearance (SECRET or higher)
*	Experience using the WRF-Var data assimilation software
*	Experience using a version control system for software
development (e.g., RCS, CVS, Subversion, git)
*	3+ years experience working in a UNIX-like environment, using
shells, editors, compilers, makefiles, and debuggers
*	3+ years experience using the Python scripting language
*	Familiarity with parallel programming (OpenMP and/or MPI)
