Hello WRF users,

I am running both NMM and ARW cores using the
real-time GFS data. As users are aware, after Sep
25/07, WRF cores used to crash because of issues
related to soil temperature and moisture error. The
bug is reported
here(http://box.mmm.ucar.edu/wrf/users/wpsv2/known-prob.html).
This site provides the solution to this problem as:

Solution: Download this updated METGRID.TBL.gfsfix,
and replace METGRID.TBL in WPS/metgrid/ (be sure to
save the old copy). Rerun metgrid.exe with the new
METGRID.TBL file.

================================

I downloaded the new METGRID.TBL.gfsfix file and this
solved the problem in ARW runs. Still the NMM cores
crashes with the new GFS data. The real_nmm.exe
completes successfully and create the boundary
conditions files. The wrf.exe creates first wrfout*
file and then hangs on. I tried different time_steps.
Using the same namlelist files (wrfsi.nl and wrf.nl
files), the NMM core successfully completes a 96 hour
forecast off GFS data for 08/13/2004 (00 cycle).

Does anybody know a solution to this problem? Thanks
so much for any help on this issue.

Annes
